Ogata Koi Farm
Koibito Japan headed to Ogata Koi Farm, Kyushu Island today to select koi from Ogata San's second Nisai harvest...
Mr Manabu Ogata, or Ogata San, has been breeding koi for more than 30 years. He has one of the largest farms in terms quantity of koi produced, with 5500 Nisai being raised in 2010. He is famous for his Go-Sanke and Shiro Utsuri, but also for his Kawarigoi. Plenty of Kikusui, Asagi, Gin Rin, Doitsu, Shusui, Goromo, Goshiki, Ogon, Yamabuki...
Ogata Koi Farm really is a remarkable place, with plenty to offer dealers of every type, from Tosai to Jumbo Koi...even some of the Nisai are nearly Jumbo, we saw plenty of Ogons of 73, 74, 75 cm, truely remarkable!
Today we were able to select 50 nisai koi before the 2nd Nisai sales offically start at Ogata on November 7th, which was nice as we were the only ones selecting from the ponds, and could really take our time to find the best koi possible. Thanks to everyone at the farm for their help, and we look forward to taking many more Koibito Japan customers to Ogata Koi Farm.
